Guardian Auto is the newest company in the auto glass industry to reuse windscreens. Customers of four of the organization's distribution centers can return broken windscreens to Guardian to be recycled.
"We are happy about our new green initiative," asserts Scott Billings, director of distribution operations for Guardian Auto. "Windshield recycling is a win / win we are doing the proper thing for the environment by keeping windshields out of landfills and we're helping our clients cut back their waste costs."
The company plans to grow the program to the other eight distribution centres later on. The 4 centres now participating are Detroit, Cincinnati, Findlay and Atlanta.
"We've received a large amount of great feedback from our customers," asserts Billings. "Once we put the new boxes out and communicated with our customers, we straight away commenced seeing damaged windshields being returned.".
